Visa & Travel Assistance

From the Indian Medical Visa invitation letter to flights and hotels — our team handles the paperwork so you can focus on getting well.

The right visa, without the hassle.

India offers a dedicated Medical Visa (M Visa) for patients travelling for treatment, and a Medical Attendant Visa (MX Visa) for up to two family members accompanying them. Most nationalities can apply online through the Indian Government’s e-Visa portal and receive approval within a few working days. SAL Hospital is a recognised hospital for this purpose, and our International Desk issues the invitation letter that the application requires.

Beyond the visa, our team helps you plan the practicalities: choosing sensible flights around your admission and discharge dates, booking a hotel or serviced apartment near the hospital that suits your budget, and advising on travel insurance, medication carriage and fitness-to-fly after surgery.

You never deal with an anonymous form alone. Your SPOC walks you through each requirement, checks your documents before you submit, and follows up if anything is delayed.

Important visa notesVisa rules, eligibility and fees are set by the Government of India and vary by nationality. Always apply through the official portal and verify current requirements. SAL Hospital provides documentation and guidance but does not issue visas.

e-Medical Visas are typically valid for 60 days from arrival with triple entry, and can be extended on medical grounds. Nationals of some countries must apply through an Indian embassy or consulate instead of online.

Your invitation letter is issued only after your treatment plan is confirmed. Please allow adequate time between confirming your plan and your intended travel date.
